Tyler Roth first writing prompt

Was anybody else as excited as I was to see Josh walk in the classroom? I was fearful that we might have had a putrid, old, monotonous, and uptight teacher. I don’t feel very good about my writing but I don’t feel bad about it either. My favorite kind of writing is the writing where you have no limitations because then you are able to actually say what you are thinking. When you write like this on a blog or for a friend I feel like more people can relate and you have more fun while you are writing it yourself. In writing classes before, I kind of just coasted by because I knew all of my teachers which in turn made it easier to get away with turning papers in late and fooling around in class. It was ok with me though because we always focused on spelling and grammar and those two things just aren’t very important to me. In English 15 I’m looking forward to learning about different writing styles because I have always wanted to learn how to make my writing more persuasive to the audience I’m trying to appeal to.

  1. We'll definitely be working with different styles in this class and it should hopefully reveal a lot more things for you to work on. I look forward to working with you.
